PLEASE NOTE: The Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Courts are NOT the custodians of court case files. To obtain copies of court documents from your court case file, you must contact the Clerk of Court for the county where the court proceeding took place, the Brevard Clerk of Court, or the Seminole Clerk of Court. (See Digital Court Reporting for instructions on how to obtain written transcripts or digital recordings of court proceedings.)
Pursuant to Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.420, the public has access to judicial branch records that are in the possession and control of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Courts, to the extent such records are not confidential or exempt. Requests for access to judicial branch records must be in writing, directed to PRR@flcourts18.org, and must provide sufficient specificity to enable the custodian to identify the requested records.
Following the submission of your public records request, the courts will conduct appropriate research to determine:
(1) if records exist within the parameters of your request; and (2) if the requested records are confidential or exempt and require redaction. If extensive research and labor are necessary to comply with your request, a written estimate of anticipated costs will be provided, payment of a deposit will be required, and a special service charge may be imposed. Payment in full is required, regardless of indigency, before the records will be released to you. Fees for copies of judicial branch records are set forth in section 119.07(4), Florida Statutes.
