17-15, SUPERSEDES 13-15 IN RE: CLERK OF COURT - ELECTRONIC FILING - ORDERED 3/24/2017 BY JOHN D. GALLUZZO

WHEREAS, Florida’s courts have made great advances in the use of technology to improve and enhance efficiency in the court system;

WHEREAS, technologies are rapidly emerging, and the judicial branch is committed to improving the administration of justice, and enhancing public access and service;

WHEREAS, electronic filing is being utilized and the Clerk of Court will receive certain documents that are not appropriate for electronic filing;

WHEREAS, to enable the Clerk to take prompt action to reject incorrect or incomplete documents;

WHEREAS, to facilitate the efficient operation of the administration of justice, and pursuant to the authority vested in me as Chief Judge of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida pursuant to Rule 2.215, Florida Rules of Judicial Administration,

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED:

  1. The Clerk of the Court in Brevard County, Florida, and the Clerk of the Court in Seminole County, Florida, are hereby authorized to reject for electronic filing documents in accordance with Florida Courts Technology Commission’s Electronic Standards.
  2. Any party whose pleading has been rejected for electronic filing by the Clerk of Court and the party believes the pleading was erroneously rejected, the party may move the Chief Judge or the Administrative Judge to review the Clerk’s action and provide appropriate relief, if necessary.
