26-34-B IN RE: CLERK OF COURT – OFFICE HOURS OF THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT AND COMPTROLLER - ORDERED BY MELANIE CHASE ON 8/24/2026.
WHEREAS, section 43.27, Florida Statutes, provides that the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, with the advice and consent of the chief judge of a circuit, may establish hours during which the office of the clerk may be open to the public;
WHEREAS, the Clerk and Comptroller is desirous to close her offices to the public for an employee in-service day which would benefit the citizens of the county by sharing best practices, seminars, office updates, and other important information; and
WHEREAS, the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit will be closed to the public on Monday, September 21, 2026, for the Yom Kippur holiday;
IT IS ORDERED:
I. The Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller in and for Brevard County, Florida, may close her offices on Monday, September 21, 2026, for the purposes of holding an employee in-service day.
II. Pursuant to Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.514(a), all due dates scheduled to fall on Monday, September 21, 2026, are extended through Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
III. For the purpose of allowing the clerks which staff the jail to participate in part of the in-service day, initial appearances will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the Brevard County Jail on Monday, September 21, 2026.
