2026 Admin Order 26-20-b

26-20-B IN RE: JUDGES - REASSIGNMENT OF CASES ASSIGNED TO JUDGE KATIE JACOBUS AND DISSOLVING THAT COUNTY COURT CRIMINAL DIVISION - ORDERED 3/27/2026 BY MELANIE CHASE

WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.215(b)(4), the chief judge assigns judges to the courts and divisions and determines the length of each assignment; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the dissolution of Judge Katie Jacobus’ County Court Criminal Division is necessary to assign the judge to the Circuit Juvenile Dependency Division;

IT IS ORDERED:

I. DISSOLUTION:
Effective April 1, 2026, Judge Katie Jacobus’ County Court Criminal Division is hereby dissolved.

II. REASSIGNMENT OF PENDING CASES:
The Clerk of Court shall evenly and randomly reassign all pending criminal cases currently assigned to Judge Katie Jacobus to the following County Court Criminal Judges:

A. Judge Kelly Ingram, Division 2
B. Judge David Koenig, Division 5
C. Judge Thomas Brown, Division 6
D. Judge Jonathan Skinner, Division 7
E. Judge Benjamin Garagozlo, Division 8

DONE AND ORDERED this 27th day of March 2026.
